We have many different volunteer roles at the Princess Project. If you'd like to help, there will be a way that you can do that! Befriender (Maidstone and Medway)
We are currently taking expressions of interest for our next befriender training course, which will be held early in 2020. This course is essential for all those wanting to take on this exciting role. We are looking forward to welcoming the next befriender cohort to the Princess Project family! The course outline is below- please do contact us if you would like to know more, or to book your place on the course. All of our training, resources and refreshments are free for our volunteers.
Session 1- Defining Befriending; The Mentoring and Befriending Cycle
Session 2- Ground Rules: Boundaries and Confidentiality
Session 3- Interpersonal Behaviour and Communication Skills
Session 4- Safeguarding
Session 5- Signposting/Working with Other Agencies
Session 6- Case Studies; Praying for our mums; looking after your spiritual needs as a befriender; Q and A; prayer time
Please note that no-one will be able to start their befriender role until all training sessions have been completed, references have been obtained and a DBS check has been carried out.
